BIA04 : The Cube

 

Mixed use office, residential and retail development concept wrapped in a rooftop greenhouse, a planted double-skin facade system and lanced with a central atrium substituting the need for mechanical ventilation.



The Cube showcases how a growing company might be weaved into a mixed use development, occupying the rooftop greenhouse and the planted double-skin corridors on the office levels. Residential levels are provided with their own growing spaces in such a way that allows the double skin to work without interruption.

It is intended as an embryonic concept which is adaptable to any site fulfilling certain parameters and is currently being developed with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants.



The Cube is an evolving concept, highlighting key BIA design challenges such as tenure and systems integration, excluding architectural acrobatics for as muted, modular and functional a narrative as possible.
